 OKOY



Comes from the Hokkien o+kue, meaning, “cake made from gabi.” Now it indicates various fried cakes made of small shrimps bound by flour (not gabi- taro), grated vegetables bound by flour and garnished with shrimps, grated roots like gabi and camote (sweet potato) and sometimes kalabasa (pumpkin).
